At the Owls' Cave Experience Centre in Kraków, you can immerse yourself in an educational birds of prey experience. This unique centre allows visitors to hold majestic birds, learn about falconry's historical significance, and understand the importance of conservation. The experience is not only enriching but also therapeutic, offering a chance to connect closely with these extraordinary creatures and their world.
The Owls' Cave is a unique family educational experience centre nestled in the heart of Kraków, Poland! While we're not an owl café, we offer an unforgettable experience where you can hold an owl and learn about the fascinating world of birds of prey. Our mission is to educate you on the history of falconry, conservation efforts, and the natural habitats of these magnificent birds. With activities for children and families, you'll leave with smiles on your faces and unforgettable first-hand knowledge of owls and raptors in both the wild and captivity.
Open to the public:
No bookings or reservations needed, just come along and pay on the day.
However, as we now head into the busier season, if you are a larger group of 6 or more, it might be worth emailing ahead to get the best possible slot for you.

To enter the Owls' Cave the price is 80zl per person.
For a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children) it's 280zl
This includes holding the birds and an educational presentation about the birds, falconry and conservation. You can join the rolling presentation at any time during opening hours.
Most days around 4pm or 5pm there is an indoor flying show featuring a few of the birds. To take part in this, the price is 100zl per person, or 360zl for a family of 4.
* Please note that presentations are done in English Language. If you'd like us to arrange translation into Polish, please contact us in advance to arrange the visit as a private booking.

School / Educational Visits
You can visit the Owls' Cave at Stolarska 11, Krakow or we can come to you at your school or university.
We provide educational presentations to students of all ages about birds of prey, falconry and conservation and can tailor our lessons to suit your curriculum.
Photography Sessions
You can arrange your photography groups and classes and bring them to our venue to photograph the birds.
We can set the birds up on perches ready for you to photograph, or alternatively, we could arrange the meeting at our countryside location to photograph the birds in their natural habitats such as woodland, farmland and forests.
Birthday Parties / Corporate Events
You can arrange your children's birthday party or company events in the Owls' Cave at Stolarska 11, Krakow.
We can arrange a special day that you and your loved ones will never forget. Hold the birds and fly some as an impressive treat for the birthday person. Or if you are a business and want to send your teams for an interesting team building event - they can come and spend time training birds of prey. Art Groups / Drawing / Painting Sessions
You can arrange your art groups and classes and bring them to our venue to draw or paint the birds.
We can arrange the birds on perches for still life art sessions where artistic guests can get as close as they like to see all the details of each bird. Please contact us with your requirements.
Weddings
You can arrange your special day by booking the owls and other birds of prey for your wedding events.
We can bring the birds for your special day to make it a unique and interesting wedding event. Our owls or hawk will fly the wedding ring to you in the church or outdoors, and your guests can hold the birds, making your photos original and memorable Please contact us with your requirements.
Falconry Classes
Learn about the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Falconry and the techniques used to train birds of prey.
A starter falconry class gives you the basic knowledge to be able to care for and handle birds of prey correctly. We can also arrange more advanced classes where you can learn all the techniques to successfully train and keep falconry birds. For more information, please contact us.
Care home Visits
We can arrange visits to your care home if you'd like senior residents to get close and hold some amazing birds.
We can visit your care home to bring a unique and memorable experience to your residents. The birds provide theraputic healing and put a smile on everyones faces as they enjoy the close encounters. Please contact us for more details and availability.
Avitherapy
Holding owls and other birds of prey is a therapy which gives people enrichment and supports mental well-being of patients.
Avitherapy is a form of zootherapy that involves contact with birds, including trained owls, hawks and falcons, to support the emotional and physical development of patients. This therapy teaches patience, care, and allows you to calm down and find peace through interactions with animals.
Home Schooling
Is your child learning from home? If so, why not come to the Owls Cave to give them a practical nature education lesson they'll never forget.
If you want to arrange a special lesson featuring our birds, contact us to put together an educational and inspiring lecture covering topics of your chosen curriculum. We can adapt the lessons to any topic: science, arts, biology, nature, predators, animal babies, habitats - you name it, we can do it. Please contact us for more details and planning.
What to expect inside the Owls Cave
When you enter the Owls' Cave Experience Centre you are greeted by the head falconer, who will ask you to take a seat.
The head falconer will then explain some safety precautions about handling the birds and will begin a presentation which lasts approximately 1 hour to 2 hours, depending on how many guests there are. You can expect a minimum of 2 hours during peak times.
The presentation includes facts about the birds, important information about conservation and an explanation of falconry past and present. During this time each bird is shown to the audience and you can hold the birds as we go along.
Later in the day there is currently a short flying show which demonstrates how we train and fly the Harris Hawk and a few other birds. In the future, this will become a separate event at an additional cost.
